Résumé
Over the past thirty years, numerous diseases that were never expected to appear in Europe have emerged within the territory of the European Union: vectorborne diseases such as the orbiviruses of Bluetongue or Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease, but also flaviviruses like West Nile virus and Usutu virus, the previously unknown Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus, as well as the poxvirus responsible for Lumpy Skin disease. Other diseases that had previously been eradicated have re-emerged, such as Foot-and-Mouth disease or Peste des Petits Ruminants. This presentation will describe these various emergences as well as the challenges that Europe will face in the future.
